What Dre did that Quik never did was constantly invest in new and upcoming talent, like Em, 50, Snoop… No questions musically I enjoy Quik’s music but Dre definitely thought about the future
It's a really good point. Quik did try & launch the careers of 2nd II None, Sugafree & Mausberg, but the latter was sadly gunned down before he could make a real impact, & Free was never going to go mainstream given the nature of his lyrics. So Dre has proven far better at identifying & nurturing talent....
